Juvenile Treatment Resources.
This page provides an overview of Washington State juvenile treatment pathways and systems.
Specific eligibility, requirements, and processes are governed by statute and agency policy.
Sexual Aggressive Youth (SAY) Program
The SAY Program serves children under 12 with problematic sexual behaviors who are involved with state or tribal child welfare systems. Services focus on treatment, caregiver support, and safety planning.
Special Sex Offender Disposition Alternative (SSODA)
SSODA allows eligible youth to receive community-based treatment as an alternative to institutional placement, when safety and treatment criteria are met. Administration varies by county.
Juvenile Rehabilitation (JR) Treatment Services
Washington’s juvenile rehabilitation facilities offer specialized treatment as part of an integrated treatment model, with transition planning for continued community care.
Private Pay Services
Some youth and families access treatment outside formal court or child welfare systems. Many WATSA providers offer developmentally appropriate, family-centered services.
