Washington Association for
the Treatment of Sexual Abusers

Welcome to the WATSA website!

Lang Taylor (1943-2016)

Lang was a long time resident of the State of Washington and involved in the field of Sex Offender treatment since he went to work at the Sex Offender Treatment Program at Western State Hospital in the mid 70’s.  He went into private practice in 1985 with Comte and Associates and then subsequently formed his own practice in 1985.  He retired from private practice in 2010 to live on Fox Island.

He was also a very active contributor to ATSA for many years.  He was on a number of ATSA committees and a board member.  He could be seen both attending and participating at conferences.  He was well liked for his interests and quick wit.

Lang was very instrumental in working with ATSA to recognize WATSA as a state chapter.  He worked on the bylaws and structure for WATSA’s acceptance as a chapter and the beginning of the state chapters throughout ATSA.  When he was actively involved in WATSA he served as president and also as a member of the board for several years.  He was also responsible for developing the WATSA Spring Conference.  With his hard work and effort the first conference was held in late February 1996.  He had hoped to develop a means for those in the field to have an opportunity to stay up on methods and advances in our field besides the ATSA conferences.  It was big success thanks to Lang and continues to exist to be held annually.

We are sorry for his passing; he will be missed.
